Moving right along: Romark Logistics helps keep the supply chain flowing

Romark Logistics provides a broad range of critical services from its over eight million square feet of facility space across multiple states.

In today’s fast-paced economy where products flow all over the world to meet ever-rising business and consumer demand, sound logistics are more critical than ever.

It’s a specialty which Romark Logistics — a Westfield-based company that provides customers with best-in-class, third-party logistics to support all facets of the supply chain — has excelled in for nearly 70 years.

Originally started as a trucking company in 1954, “we’re responsible for moving product to and from factories to wholesalers, retailers, and everyone in between,” shared Marc Lebovitz, president of the second-generation, family-owned business alongside sister Amy, who serves as executive vice president and in-house counsel.

“Since we receive products from a wide variety of manufacturers — both domestic and international — we’re also a mixing and distribution center for many manufactured products, ultimately working to ensure that they get to wholesalers and retailers (who then make these products available in their stores or online portals),” he said.  “We additionally provide factory support services, including raw and finished material storage and transportation services, as well as other value-added services such as co-packing, which enables us to create shoppable pallets/mixed items and direct-to-consumer (DTC) services from our master inventory.”

Romark Logistics provides this broad range of critical services from its over eight million square feet of facility space across multiple states as well as a fleet comprised of hundreds of trailers, chassis for ocean container transport, trailers for refrigerated and dry trailer moves, and more.  “We’re an essential part of the supply chain for everything from grocery items, pharmaceuticals, and pet food to alcohol, confections, and even returned items, since recent studies show that one out of every five products purchased gets returned,” Lebovitz said. “We sort and segregate returns in preparation for their eventual resale.”

Personalized Service … Always

In an industry that’s recently been challenged by pandemic-era shutdowns, labor shortages, product and  price increases, global economic turmoil, and subsequent shifts in consumer purchase patterns, “we have to be the most flexible part of the supply chain and work around, with, and through all issues to get products from the companies/places that provide them to the people who want and need them, all while supporting the interests of our clients and their customers,” Lebovitz explained.  “Through our fleet of trucks, extensive warehouse space, automation expertise, and focus on delivering solutions, we provide personalized service to every customer and work to ensure that the elements within our control are managed as efficiently as possible.”

“We pride ourselves on providing ‘personalized service always,’ because no two clients have the same needs or distribution networks,” Lebovitz continued.  “It’s all about being flexible, capable, accommodating, and ready for anything.”

With their corporate-wide focus on keeping products moving, Lebovitz confirmed that none of Romark’s seven decades of success would be possible without their outstanding team of dedicated employees (affectionately known as “Romarkable”) and wonderful customers.

“We’re a family business made up of loyal employees and their families. The services we provide help supply all families with the products they need,”  said Lebovitz, a Springfield native who’s proud and grateful to help carry on the legacy their father Roy started.  “For us, it’s a matter of doing the right things for our employees and continuing to grow the business in the most responsible, efficient, and sustainable way possible. We’ve been doing this for nearly 70 years,” he concluded, “and there’s lots more to do.”

Romark Logistics is located at 822 South Ave. West in Westfield, and can be reached at 908-789-2800 or by visiting www.romarklogistics.com.
