Head to Hunterdon County and explore ‘the other side of Jersey’

Hunterdon County invites you to explore the other side of Jersey where you will find vineyards, farmers markets, a craft beer trail, pick-your-own farms, charming small towns, outdoor adventures and natural beauty. Plan your visit at ExploreHunterdonNJ.com and discover a side of Jersey you never imagined.

Craft Beer + Vineyards

Hunterdon’s vineyards boast spectacular views, live music, tasting events, and cozy heated outdoor seating. Vineyards include Beneduce Vineyards, Old York Cellars, Federal Twist Vineyard, Mount Salem Vineyards, Unionville Vineyards and newcomer Angelico Winery.

The Cider Garden at Ironbound Farm in Alexandria Township serves hard cider or seltzer, and seasonal fare.

Along the Hunterdon Beer Trail you will find seven craft breweries including Odd Bird Brewing, Lone Eagle Brewing, Conclave Brewing, Highrail Brewing, Descendants Brewing Company at the Old Ship Inn, Sunken Silo Brew Works and Readington Brewery &  Hop Farm. Passports invite guests to visit each brewery and be rewarded with a commemorative glass.

Fall Fun

A picture-perfect fall day starts with a wagon ride! On fall weekends, Melick’s Town Farm offers wagon rides at its Oldwick and Califon orchards. You’ll be dropped off to pick apples and snap the perfect photo. Pumpkin picking starts later in the season at the Califon location. At the Oldwick Cider Mill and Orchard you can sip delicious hard cider while exploring the orchard.

Everitt Farms at Pumpkin Junction in Ringoes offers fun for all ages including wagon rides, corn mazes, music and games, a petting zoo, and a 6-acre pumpkin patch.

Schaefer Farms in Flemington offers freshly picked apples for sale, along with a hayride through the farm landscape to a pumpkin patch, where you can pick your own pumpkins. The farm experience also includes live music, corn mazes and animal feeding.

Stroll a Main Street

Lambertville has it all — delightful Victorian architecture, antiques, art + artisans, galleries, coffee shops, shopping and a vibrant food scene. Nestled on the banks of the Delaware River, this famed “river town” is sure to delight.

Frenchtown boasts a vibrant arts scene, a rich history and was recently recognized by USA Today as one of “America’s Top 10 Best Small Towns for Shopping.” And, with the expansion of Art Yard, Frenchtown’s reputation as a center for the arts continues to grow.

Clinton is home to one of the most photographed places in the U.S. — the iconic and beautiful Red Mill.  The Hunterdon Art Museum, located in a former grist mill, hosts an ever-changing collection of exhibits. Cafes, restaurants and unique shops complete your visit to this classic small town.

Other charming towns to explore are: Flemington, High Bridge, Milford and Stockton.

Explore Outside

Winding roads, beautiful views, extensive trails, lakes, and rivers make Hunterdon County a premier destination for hiking, biking, and paddling. Plan your visit at ExploreHunterdonNJ.com.
